New journal

I almost didn't want to ruin it with my ridiculous handwriting, but there's nothing more sad than an empty journal.

red-eyed outta here

Well today I received all the exciting information regarding my upcoming trip to Washington D.C. Can't wait! What is really fun is our departing flight leaves at 12:05 AM, so I will (hopefully) be sleeping for most of the flight. I actually like staying up late and I also love flying so I think it's going to be really nice. We arrive there at the Dulles International Airport at 7:16 am. Staying at the Doubletree Hotel National Airport which I hear is a pretty good place. Then onto a jam-packed week of lectures, debates, tours, workshops, seminars, handshakes and picture taking! I'm planning on taking many photographs and video.
[let's hope I won't be rooming with any liberal participants] :D

all thanks to patsy

I got my hands on this interior design board a few weeks ago and I considered it a pretty neat find. Apparently someone named Patsy Blevins went to interior design school in the sixties, spent weeks and countless hours designing this living room (which I'm sure she got an A+ on) only to have it end up on the top shelf out of reach and with no price tag just collecting dust in the basement of an old antique store. Luckily for me, my fairly endowed height gave me the advantage of just barely spotting it. I thought Adell would appriciate it more than anyone seeing as she has made about a dozen of these. Lately I have been looking into interior design as a possible area of study. I think it might be a pretty neat thing to do. Anyways, it gives my room, I think, a pretty cool peice of art and it's all thanks to Patsy.

if you click on them for a larger view, you can see how it's all hand drawn and painted. very cool..

ye olde cabin

This weekend was fun, my parents, McKay, Lani and I went up to our little place in Apline for a bit of R&R. So much snow! We spent most the day inside playing various card games that Lani taught us. I even got them to watch an entire B.Keaton movie, so I know for sure that they all had a good time.

ol' blue eyes

Last night I planted myself deep in the lovsac and watched a movie called 'From Here to Eternity'(1953) starring Frank Sinatra, Donna Reed, & Montgomery Clift. Great film! I knew I enjoyed the old movies, but this one blew me away. I've developed a crush on Sinatra. In the movie he was always saying 'buddy-boy', like "Watch it buddy-boy!" or.."Heya buddy-boy, wanna go hit the town?!". It's actually a really sad movie, but it was so well done. It has everything: romance, comedy, history, murder,& the men all have really great hair. An Oscar winner and for good reason. Frank Sinatra is incredible and as for Montgomery Clift...wowza! I recommend this movie to anyone who'd be willing to devote an evening(it's pretty long) to true entertainment.

my room

Well Adell told me I should post a few pictures of my newly fabricated bedroom, so like the good younger sister that I am, I will succumb entirely to her command. My mom and I did this a few months ago. I was getting really tired of my old color, plus I was genuinely bored so it was exciting to pick out new colors and some fun wallpaper.

the colors were Hillside Green & Van Buren brown. but don't look too closely at the corners. we don't claim to be professionals.

you can see the colors really good here

New Years

Me and Chas. He doesn't like photographs.

Does this picture remind anyone else besides me of the little boy Grinch who didn't want to show his face at school?

Chas and Chanel

Well, New Years was pretty fun. My friend Chad's father works for a law firm in Scottsdale so we decided that we would help ourselves to it's lavish facilities. (ie. hot chocolate machine, huge conference table with comfy chairs, big screen, whoevers Redi-Whip that was in the kitchen refrigerator, etc.) Anyways, we also watched October Sky which is a fave of mine, so it was pretty fun!
